Retama Village is a luxury RV-oriented community in the “Valley” of South Texas. Mild weather and a semi-tropical climate make for an ideal winter location.
Within the gated, age-restricted community you will find a mixture of deeded RV lots with Coach Houses, Casita homes with uncovered RV parking, Port homes with covered RV parking, and a variety of single-family homes with garages (but no RV parking).
Individual lot owners offer a variety of properties for lease. All properties have at least a 12′ x 20′ Coach House. This website provides availability and pricing of rental sites – all rentals are booked directly from the property owner.
You may be surprised to find that the rental of a luxury RV site is surprisingly affordable when compared to a commercial RV Park that is not nearly as nice.
Retama Village is part of the 2,600 acre Master Planned Community of Bentsen Palm Development.
Retama Village is adjacent to the commercial RV park of Bentsen Palm RV Resort – the finest RV resort in the Rio Grande Valley. Bentsen Palm has been rated 10/10/10 and 5 Stars in the RV campground guides. It is also independently rated as one of the top mid-sized resorts in the US, and the number one rated resort in Texas.
Retama Village was developed as a deeded-ownership sibling to the public resort. As such, it has facilities that are quite a bit nicer. As a renter at Retama you will have some of the facilities at Bentsen Palm available for your use.
Retama Village covenants are restrictive. Unlike other RV Resorts in the Valley, there are no park models, mobile homes, attached rooms, or skirting allowed.
The Village is located adjacent to thousands of acres of Federal and State wildlife areas, and is surrounded by undeveloped land. Located within walking distance are the World Birding Headquarters, the top birding site in the US, the largest outdoor butterfly park in the world (developed by the North American Butterfly Association), and thousands of acres of pristine wildlife habitat, including lakes, ponds and the Rio Grande River.
Bentsen Palm – the Master Planned Community that Retama Village is a part of – has developed extensive hike/bike trails, community parks, lakes and natural areas for the private use of Bentsen Palm residents. Retama Village is not an RV Park in a heavily developed urban area – yet all major big-box stores and medical needs are within 10-12 miles.
